Privacy Policy
Slarify is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your data and the data of your employees. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have — in plain, clear language.
1.Overview
This Privacy Policy applies to all products and services offered by Slarify (“we”, “us”, “our”), including Slarify Payroll and any future products offered under the Slarify platform, accessible at slarify.com and its sub-domains.
Slarify is operated from India and primarily serves businesses based in India. All data handling practices described in this policy are designed to comply with applicable Indian data protection laws, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011 (“SPDI Rules”), and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDPA”).
When you register a company workspace, add employees, or process payroll on Slarify, you act as the data principal (the business) and Slarify acts as the data fiduciary / data processor on your behalf. This distinction is important — your employees’ payroll data belongs to you and is processed by Slarify strictly under your instruction.
2.Information We Collect
We collect information in two ways: information you provide directly, and information collected automatically when you use Slarify.
2.1 Information You Provide
| Category | Data Collected | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Account | Company name, admin name, work email address, phone number | Create and manage your workspace |
| Billing | Plan selection, billing cycle. Payment card data is processed directly by Razorpay — Slarify does not store card numbers or CVVs. | Process subscription payments |
| Employee Records | Employee names, employee IDs, designations, departments, salary details, bank account details, PAN, PF/ESI numbers, date of joining | Payroll processing, payslip generation, statutory compliance |
| Attendance | Biometric attendance data imported via CSV, leave requests, holiday calendars | Attendance tracking and leave management |
| Communications | Support tickets, enquiry form submissions, email correspondence | Customer support and product improvement |
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
| Category | Data Collected |
|---|---|
| Usage Data | Pages visited, features used, session duration, actions within the workspace (e.g. payroll runs initiated) |
| Device & Access | IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, device type |
| Cookies | Session cookies (required for login), analytics cookies (Google Analytics or equivalent), preference cookies. See Section 7. |
2.3 Sensitive Personal Data
Employee financial data (salary, bank account details, PAN) constitutes Sensitive Personal Data or Information (SPDI) under Indian law. We collect and process this data only to the extent necessary to provide payroll services, and handle it with the heightened protections required under the SPDI Rules, 2011.
3.How We Use Your Data
We use the information we collect solely to provide, maintain, and improve the Slarify platform. We do not sell your data to third parties. Specific uses include:
- Providing and operating your Slarify workspace and the products you subscribe to
- Processing payroll runs, generating payslips, and managing attendance and leave records
- Processing subscription payments through Razorpay
- Sending transactional emails — account confirmations, payslip delivery, billing receipts, and important product notices
- Responding to support requests and enquiries
- Detecting, preventing, and addressing security incidents and technical issues
- Complying with applicable Indian laws, statutory filings, and regulatory requirements
- Analysing aggregate, anonymised usage patterns to improve the platform — we never use individual employee data for this purpose
We will not use your data or your employees’ data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose outside of providing the services you have subscribed to.
4.Data Sharing & Disclosure
Slarify does not sell, rent, or trade your data. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:
🏦 Payment Processing — Razorpay
When you subscribe to a paid plan, you are redirected to Razorpay’s secure checkout. Razorpay processes payment information directly. Slarify receives only confirmation of payment and the associated plan details. Razorpay’s privacy policy governs their data handling: razorpay.com/privacy.
☁️ Cloud Infrastructure
Slarify uses cloud hosting infrastructure to store and process data. Our hosting providers operate under strict data processing agreements and are bound by confidentiality obligations. Data is stored in secure data centres.
📧 Email & Communication Services
We use third-party email delivery services to send payslips, account notifications, and support responses. These providers process email addresses and message content only to deliver communications on our behalf.
⚖️ Legal Requirements
We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or governmental authority in India, or where disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Slarify, our users, or others.
All third-party service providers are contractually required to keep your data confidential, use it only for the specific purpose for which it was shared, and maintain appropriate security measures.
5.Employee Data & Your Responsibilities
Slarify Payroll requires you to input data about your employees — including their financial and personal information. As the employer and data principal, you have the following responsibilities:
- You must obtain the necessary consent from your employees before entering their personal data into Slarify, as required under Indian data protection laws.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the employee data you enter into the platform.
- You must inform your employees that their payroll, attendance, and leave data is processed using Slarify’s platform.
- When an employee leaves your organisation, you are responsible for updating their records and, where applicable, requesting deletion of their data.
- You must not enter employee data for any purpose other than legitimate payroll and HR administration.
Slarify processes employee data strictly as instructed by you (the employer) and does not use employee data for any independent purpose.
6.Data Storage & Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organisational security measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include:
- Encryption of data in transit using TLS (HTTPS) on all Slarify web properties
- Encryption of sensitive data at rest in our databases
- Access controls — only authorised Slarify personnel with a legitimate need can access customer data
- Each company workspace is fully isolated — your data is never accessible to other Slarify customers
- Regular security monitoring and vulnerability assessments
- Secure password policies and authentication controls for admin access
While we apply rigorous security practices, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong password for your account and to notify us immediately at support@slarify.com if you suspect any unauthorised access.
All data is stored within secure data centres. We do not transfer personal data outside India except where required by the infrastructure of our hosting providers, in which case equivalent safeguards apply.
